Gisle Glück Evensen
My role at Summa Equity AS is to lead the work of the individual investment teams. I truly enjoy working with the whole investment process, from generating ideas to supporting the companies in achieving their goals. The breadth of scope allows me to leverage many aspects of the experience I have gained previously and allows me to have an extremely varied work setting.
Earlier in my career I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of sectors and filled very different roles. The common denominators, as I see it, have been opportunities at the intersection between technology and commerce, digitalization, investment management in different ownership settings – and a clear purpose. Here at Summa I feel fortunate to be able to continue my purpose driven investment philosophy. Companies are the cornerstone of societies and by insuring that capital is directed towards companies with a positive impact, we contribute positively to the many challenges we face today. For me, Summa brings together the most interesting elements of my working life: an analytical and open-minded approach to complex challenges an innovative spirit that fosters creativity and opportunities to work with technology companies – and not least; a strong purpose which I truly believe will have a positive impact far beyond Summa.
I am very grateful for the open Summa culture that supports and values diversity and the importance of a balanced life. Looking forward to going to work every day is a privilege – a privilege that cannot be overrated.

Before I joined Summa, I worked several years at Reiten & Co and Norvestor.
Partner & General Counsel
My decision to join the Summa team was based on my strong belief in the team and their ability to create value through a sustainable and purpose driven approach to investments. Prior to coming onboard, I had the opportunity to work closely with the team, first in connection with the fund raising of Fund I and, thereafter, in connection with a secondment.
Before joining Summa, I worked as a lawyer in the Funds and Investment team at Mannheimer Swartling. There I primarily worked with fund raising, structuring and M&A related matters. I have a Master of Law from Lund University.
I work primarily with the tech-enabled business thesis and focus on our growth investment strategy. My role includes all aspects of developing new investment ideas, assessing and executing new investments, but more importantly further developing the Summa platform, and working with our founders and CEOs to support them in value creation and building the companies for the next stage of their journey.
I am drawn to Summa for three simple reasons: 1) great people whom I am truly humbled and inspired by, 2) our shared values on doing good while making great returns, and 3) a belief that technology can do great things and enable us to overcome some of the greatest challenges facing our future.
My career has been a mix of finance, entrepreneurship, and investments, with tenures at Kinnevik, Northzone, Groupon, Merrill Lynch, and the Danish Central Bank. I hold an MBA from Harvard Business School, MFE from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and a BSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen.

My primary focus is on both healthcare and technology, with the crossroads of both arguably being one of the most exciting domains.
I consider working as a Partner for Summa Equity as a unique opportunity to create tangible impact in terms of sustainable economic development, contribute to a long-term defendable and successful investment philosophy, work with the impressive Summa team and leverage my entrepreneurial experience. That’s not just fun, it’s also highly satisfying to tackle global challenges.
All of my career has been in technology with initially a strong focus on financial technology, including trading, cash management, and payments. The last 10 years before joining Summa have been in life sciences, more specifically genomics and multi-omics data analytics with BlueBee (acquired by Illumina). I have been the co-founder and CEO for several successful start-ups and alternated between these entrepreneurial initiatives and senior executive rules in global corporations, including Alcatel Lucent, Sungard FIS, SWIFT, and most recently as the VP of Software for Illumina.
As a member of the investment team at Summa, I will be focusing on investments within the Changing Demographics theme, generating and sourcing new opportunities and serving as a committed partner for the portfolio companies and their people alongside the ever-exciting growth trajectories.
Being part of Summa is both humbling and exhilarating. It is rare to come across such a group of extremely talented and engaged individuals working towards a common purpose, to which I am grateful to contribute.
I have always been a firm believer of the power of innovation in biological sciences and technology to impact some of today’s and tomorrow’s societal challenges within and beyond the healthcare domain. We therefore need to support those innovative companies contributing to that mission. Before joining Summa, I managed the life science activities for a leading European family office investing with a people-planet-profit bottom-line, including the foundation of the OMX Venture fund franchise. After stints in investment banking and biotech, I complemented my initial studies in Economics with a Bioengineering degree.
As a Partner at Summa Equity, I work with the investment team to pursue investments that solve global challenges. My primary focus is with our Technology-enabled Transformation team, where I drive deal sourcing efforts and portfolio company oversight and value creation.
My current portfolio company engagements are as Board Chair at Pagero, where we are building an open, global and data-centric network to radically improve how transactions flow between the world’s 150 million companies, and Myneva, which is building a pan-European SaaS-based care technology platform with the aim of improving the quality and availability of elderly, social, disabled and youth care as our societies deal with accelerating demographic change.
I am passionate about Summa and our portfolio companies’ opportunity to create superior returns in both financial and social terms. I am particularly optimistic about how more intelligent use of existing technology in companies across virtually all sectors can help make positive and negative externalities visible and allow investors, consumers, and regulators to value truly good businesses appropriately.
Before joining Summa Equity in September 2019, I spent 25+ years in leadership roles in TMT companies across Europe and the US. In addition to my work at Summa, I serve on the boards of Nordic Semiconductor ASA (chair), Nordea Bank Abp (chair of Board Operations and Sustainability Committee), and PragmatIC Semiconductor. Being an investor comes with a big responsibility, and Summa Equity’s way to approach it is simple yet powerful: we invest in companies that aim to solve global challenges. By helping these companies become bigger and better, we not only deliver strong results for our investors, but also ensure the capital we deploy has a positive impact on our environment and society. I am grateful to partner with companies that share this mission.
Before joining Summa Equity, I was a Partner at The Riverside Company and before that a consultant at Boston Consulting Group. I hold a Master of Science in International Business Administration from WU Vienna and an MBA from the University of Cambridge.
I am responsible for our work within the Changing Demographics theme. I have spent almost all of my career as a healthcare investor, and at Summa I work with companies across the theme, to support them in their development and paths to value creation. Within the Changing Demographics theme and in particular in the healthcare space, there is a large number of companies that fit our investment strategy, that have strong growth prospects and that are well positioned to bring value to our societies.
I am a strong supporter of the philosophy and strategy behind Summa. The world needs better solutions and a commitment by the business community, if we are to solve the challenges our societies face. Within the Changing Demographics theme, it is criticial for a business to be aligned with the interest of its stakeholders, and ensure that value accrues to the community it serves. Such a business is likely to be inherently more sustainable and successful also financially in the long term than other businesses.
In the past I have worked with healthcare investments at Nordic Capital, and for Morgan Stanley.
As a thematic partner at Summa Equity, I work closely with the Resource Efficiency team to identify investment opportunities, develop strategies, and support portfolio companies. I focus primarily on the Circularity, Waste, and Water sectors, having previously held senior management positions in these fields.
At a time when climate change increasingly impacts populations around the globe, and with resources rapidly depleting and biodiversity loss accelerating, I found at Summa Equity a talented team that truly wants businesses to develop and innovate while addressing these critical challenges.
Before joining Summa Equity, I was the CEO of Suez Group, a global leader in environmental services. After spending nearly 30 years at Suez Group in various leadership positions internationally, I feel very privileged to continue serving my passion for the environment with a team that wants to make a difference. I hold a Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.
Founder & Managing Partner
While my role as Managing Partner is varied, I enjoy everything from being part of the deal teams to driving performance and innovation in our portfolio. Additionally, telling the Summa story to our investors and others, about how Summa is creating value through our strategy of investing to solve global challenges.
The world is facing significant challenges and my choice was to be part of the solution. While establishing the Summa Fund together with the Summa Foundation in 2016 is my main commitment to this, I also find inspiration in the projects we have in Africa as well as closer to home, helping to improve the lives of the disadvantaged.

Board of Directors
I am passionate about active ownership and creating sustainable value for a multitude of stake holders. In my long-standing role as a private equity fund investor it is important to be a constructive partner enabling private equity teams to continue to improve in a highly capital competitive and lower growth environment in Europe.
In particular the value creation part has evolved and to create best in class sustainable returns only works, in my view, if you invest in building better businesses that can drive sustainable growth. Summa does not only try to this but will in addition only invest in areas where there is a clear link to the UN SDG’s which will make it even more future proof.
As a previous investor in Summa, I have come to know and value the team highly and the opportunity to take an even more active role in the team’s journey as part of the advisory board in Summa’s development is extremely exciting.
The landscape of global markets is in the process of a profound change in the coming few years, driven by mega-trends linked to ESG and technology. I believe that Summa is uniquely positioned, has a key role, and possesses the expertise in this major transition process. Summa will prove that ESG-considerations and performance are not incompatible – on the contrary – but key drivers in this transition.
I am excited, proud, and enthusiastic to be part of this challenging journey, and hope to contribute to Summa’s governance and growth as a board member. I believe that Summa can and will contribute to making a better and sustainable world for future generations, meeting the needs of my children as well as my grandchildren.
I am a lawyer, having more than 25 years of experience in various legal roles in the Swedish financial industry. In addition, I have gained international experience working within the financial industry and its operations in Luxembourg.
Camilla Melander Gustafsson
As a board member, I contribute to Summa’s governance and ability to comply with different rules and goals. Some of these relate to authorization as an Alternative Investment Fund and the 17 UN Global Goals For Sustainable Developments. Compliance with these rules and goals is crucial for institutional investors allocating their capital to companies that aim to solve global challenges and build a more sustainable world.
I truly believe in Summa’s philosophy and strategy, and I am grateful to take part in Summa’s journey. My experience as a General Counsel and Compliance Officer in different financial institutions, regulated by financial authorities, will contribute to my support to keep Summa as a trustworthy partner to invest in.
