Meet the Summates

While my role as Managing Partner is varied, I enjoy everything from being part of the deal teams to driving performance and innovation in our portfolio. Additionally, telling the Summa story to our investors and others, about how Summa is creating value through our strategy of investing to solve global challenges.

The world is facing significant challenges and my choice was to be part of the solution. While establishing the Summa Fund together with the Summa Foundation in 2016 is my main commitment to this, I also find inspiration in the projects we have in Africa as well as closer to home, helping to improve the lives of the disadvantaged.

As a Partner at Summa Equity, I work closely with the Resource Efficiency team to identify investment opportunities, develop strategies, and support portfolio companies. I focus primarily on the Circularity, Waste, and Water sectors, having previously held senior management positions in these fields.

At a time when climate change increasingly impacts populations around the globe, and with resources rapidly depleting and biodiversity loss accelerating, I found at Summa Equity a talented team that truly wants businesses to develop and innovate while addressing these critical challenges.

Before joining Summa Equity, I was the CEO of Suez Group, a global leader in environmental services. After spending nearly 30 years at Suez Group in various leadership positions internationally, I feel very privileged to continue serving my passion for the environment with a team that wants to make a difference. I hold a Master of Science in Civil Engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées in Paris.

I am responsible for our work in DACH (Germany, Switzerland, and Austria), spanning sourcing, value creation, and portfolio management across our investment themes with a focus on Resource Efficiency and Tech-Enabled Transformation.

Being an investor comes with a big responsibility, and Summa Equity’s way to approach it is simple yet powerful: we invest in companies that aim to solve global challenges. By helping these companies become bigger and better, we not only deliver strong results for our investors, but also ensure the capital we deploy has a positive impact on our environment and society. Before joining Summa Equity, I was a Partner at The Riverside Company and before that a consultant at Boston Consulting Group. I hold a Master of Science in International Business Administration from WU Vienna and an MBA from the University of Cambridge.

As a Partner at Summa Equity, I collaborate with the Resource Efficiency team to identify transformative investment opportunities across our sub-themes, craft forward-looking strategies, and drive value creation in our portfolio companies. With a strong focus on impact, our team fosters businesses that address today’s most pressing global challenges, from climate resilience to resource scarcity, while generating financial returns.

Throughout my career, I have worked at the intersection of financial returns and positive social impact, and I am proud to contribute to Summa’s track record of impactful investing. Previously, I held senior roles at Generate Capital, Oaktree Capital, and Starwood Capital.

My focus at Summa is investing in our Resource Efficiency theme in the USA. My role spans sourcing and investing in companies to supporting our management teams in achieving our investment goals. Working at Summa allows me to combine my passion for investing with my desire to make the world a more sustainable place for its inhabitants.

I have spent the bulk of my career in private equity investing across different industries and geographies. This has provided me with a diverse set of experiences that I try to apply across all our investment activities. It is energizing to be able to work with a talented group of professionals at Summa who are mission driven and focused on making the world a better place.

Prior to joining Summa, I worked as a Senior Managing Director at Generate Capital PBC, where I was responsible for investing in and managing some of Generate’s largest renewable energy platforms.

I support our investment teams as they partner with entrepreneurs to build great businesses, create value for Summa’s investors and deliver solutions to resource efficiency challenges in their communities and around the world.

The investment and business communities have important roles to play in solving the impact of climate change and other challenges we all face around the world. Summa uses its capital to support great businesses that can deliver outsize value to shareholders and also drive positive impact to society. I am excited to support this mission and be a part of the Summa team.

Prior to joining Summa, I held senior positions with institutions such as Generate Capital and the Carlyle Group. I also spend my time supporting philanthropic activities at Calvert Impact, Climate United and Dartmouth College.

My role at Summa Equity AS is to lead the work of the individual investment teams. I truly enjoy working with the whole investment process, from generating ideas to supporting the companies in achieving their goals. The breadth of scope allows me to leverage many aspects of the experience I have gained previously and allows me to have an extremely varied work setting.

Earlier in my career I have been fortunate enough to work in a variety of sectors and filled very different roles. The common denominators, as I see it, have been opportunities at the intersection between technology and commerce, digitalization, investment management in different ownership settings – and a clear purpose. Here at Summa I feel fortunate to be able to continue my purpose driven investment philosophy. Companies are the cornerstone of societies and by insuring that capital is directed towards companies with a positive impact, we contribute positively to the many challenges we face today. For me, Summa brings together the most interesting elements of my working life: an analytical and open-minded approach to complex challenges an innovative spirit that fosters creativity and opportunities to work with technology companies – and not least; a strong purpose which I truly believe will have a positive impact far beyond Summa.

I have a quite broad experience from McKinsey, Head of M&A in Schibsted Media Group, working with government ownership for the Norwegian Ministry of Finance and from setting up a corporate venture investment unit for AF Gruppen.

My focus is to drive our overall efforts in sourcing the best possible investment opportunities within Summa´s investment mandate and make sure that we run our investment processes according to our standards, methodology and with the necessary quality and effectiveness.

I also lead sourcing efforts within our Tech Enabled Businesses investment theme, and have been responsible for several successful investment cases within this area. I am very curious and interested in how technology represents solutions to many of the challenges the world are facing, thus representing tremendous investment opportunities. I am very passionate about my work. With Summa, the passion has increased even further due to energy created from building a new firm and investing solely in companies that contributes positively to society.

Before I joined Summa, I worked several years at Reiten & Co and Norvestor.

I am responsible for our work within the Resource Efficiency theme, from sourcing and investing in companies to supporting management teams to achieve their goals. Working in Summa allows me to combine my desire to generate positive externalities that are fully aligned with growth, creating both value and positive impact.

I have spent the bulk of my career following my passion for working with businesses from early-stage start-ups, growth/scale-ups to mature organizations in their development and paths to value creation. Through these experiences, I have gained skills in managing growth companies and companies in need of change and strategic review, always looking for new ways of creating value.

I am thankful to be a part of an investment firm with a strong purpose-driven strategy and hope to bring passion, entrepreneurship and positive energy. Prior to joining Summa, I worked at McKinsey, 3i Private Equity, and Sole Kapital.

I am passionate about how technology can represent solutions to our global challenges and give rise to new and exciting investment opportunities. Being part of a purpose-driven organization also inspires me, and I am grateful to work with competent and resourceful Summates.

Before joining Summa, I worked at Adelis Equity Partners (2016 to 2021). I have worked in the Swedish and Danish market, predominantly with tech- and tech-enabled service businesses. Before Adelis, I worked at KIRKBI Holding (the investment company behind the LEGO Group) and Investment Banking at FIH Partners in Copenhagen.

As Head of Portfolio and Head of Via Summa I am leading our collaboration with portfolio companies to create maximum impact and success with our investments. Together with my Summa colleagues and experts from different industries and functions we partner up with management from day 1: to define the right strategy, to invest in leadership and team development, to support in executing big projects and to ensure a smooth process in sharing ideas and results during our partnership.

We at Summa are convinced that innovation and entrepreneurship will solve global challenges. And my role enables me to work closely with founders and CEOs who dedicate their professional lives to building great businesses on that foundation. This is highly inspiring. And creating strategic clarity and building high performing organizations is what I like to do and what I do best.

Before I joined Summa in 2023, I was an Executive Board Member at Axel Springer, I was founder and CEO of eCom company mirapodo, I was part of the leadership team at eBay in Germany and I worked for McKinsey & Company.

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Investor Relations at Summa Equity, I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of our operational teams. I ensure that our legal, finance, investor relations, communications, and business development teams reach their maximum potential.

My responsibilities include managing our fundraising activities as well as heading up our investor relations. Furthermore, I serve on the boards of Norsk Gjenvinning and Holdbart, both of which are part of our Resource Efficiency investment theme.

My decision to join the Summa team was based on my strong belief in the team and their ability to create value through a sustainable and purpose driven approach to investments. Prior to coming onboard, I had the opportunity to work closely with the team, first in connection with the fund raising of Fund I and, thereafter, in connection with a secondment.

Before joining Summa, I worked as a lawyer in the Funds and Investment team at Mannheimer Swartling. There I primarily worked with fund raising, structuring and M&A related matters. I have a Master of Law from Lund University.

I work within our Resources Efficiency investment theme, where I am dedicated to the Circularity and Water subtheme. My main areas of focus are the elaboration of the theory of change and investment strategy, deal origination and transaction secondment. I particularly enjoy supporting executive leadership teams throughout their transformation journey. As an illustration of this, I’m honoured to serve on the Board of Norsk Gjenvinning as we’re progressing on our new circular journey.

I’m deeply grateful and fulfilled being a ‘Summate’, joining an organization which is purpose-driven, cares and encourages bold moves and, fundamentally, puts positive impact at the centre of everything we do.

Along my career, I have developed a strong operational experience across sectors (e.g., automotive industry, infrastructure and environmental services) and across Europe. In my last position in Suez, I had a dual role, leading our Italian, Greek and Slovenian organizations as CEO as well as acting as SVP in charge of the newly constituted “Air & Climate” global line of solutions.

I joined Summa because I believe that an investment strategy incorporating the UN SDGs is not a ‘nice-to-have’ but a necessity to generate superior, sustainable returns during the coming decades. I believe that the team here at Summa picked up on this notion very early on and that they have truly incorporated it in the investment strategy since- allowing for superior results and returns to not only our investors, but also to our portfolio companies and the broader societies that they operate in.

Before joining Summa, I worked as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG). I hold an M.Sc. in Finance and a B.Sc. in Business & Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE).

I’m excited about being a part of Summa because of our investment strategy that tackles real global challenges across three important themes, particularly those arising from changing demographics. As healthcare transforms, the importance of addressing these shifts becomes even more evident. Working alongside companies that share this mission and being in a team that marries lasting positive impact with strong results for investors is something I find very motivating.

Before joining Summa, I worked in the Investment Banking Division at Houlihan Lokey focusing on the Technology sector and Nordic transactions. I hold a BSc in Economics and Business Administration from The Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

I joined Summa because I firmly believe that solving global challenges will require a major reallocation of capital, and Summa’s pioneering approach is pivotal to making that happen. The combination of delivering superior returns while addressing critical global issues is something that truly motivates me. More specifically, I’m excited about the role technology can play in solving these challenges and creating new investment opportunities. Previously, I worked at the Boston Consulting Group in Stockholm, focusing on Private Equity & Healthcare. I hold an M.Sc. in Finance from the Stockholm School of Economics.

I joined Summa because I strongly believe in its vision, strategy and team. I feel deeply motivated to have a positive impact by investing in and developing companies that help to solve some of the most pressing global challenges.

Before joining Summa, I worked as a consultant at McKinsey & Company focusing on growth strategies, due diligences and transformations in various sectors. I hold a BA in Business Administration and MA in Accounting & Finance from the University of St. Gallen and have studied at Stellenbosch University and Dartmouth College.

As an Investment Associate in the Tech-Enabled Transformation team, I get the opportunity to combine my passion for supporting companies on their growth journey with my ambition to contribute to climate and society positively. This is also part of my motivation to join the firm. Prior to Summa, I spent two years at Oakley Capital. I hold a BSc in Economics from LMU (Munich) and an MSc in Management from IE University (Madrid).

I strongly believe that private equity funds can play a very important role in solving ESG and the related global challenges while still achieving positive financial returns. Summa, with its three thematic investment areas, plays a fundamental role in bringing this perception to the outside world. Thus, I am very excited to be part of Summa and contribute to this mission.

Prior to joining Summa, I worked at Boston Consulting Group in Munich as a member of the Private Equity & Principle Investor (PIPE) team and before, as an Investment Professional at Waterland. I graduated with a BSc in Business Administration from University St.Gallen (HSG), Switzerland and a MSc in Finance from HEC Paris, France.

I firmly believe that capital can be used to create value for a wide range of stakeholders, beyond financial returns. Thus, I am very passionate about our thematic investment strategy, and I firmly believe in co-creating to solve global challenges.

Prior to joining Summa, I worked as an investment professional at Advent International in Frankfurt as well as at Castik Capital in Munich. I graduated with a BSc in International Finance from Università Bocconi in Milan.

Before joining Summa, I worked at The Boston Consulting Group in London and New York – focusing on Private Equity, TMT, and Sustainability. I hold an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics and a BSc in Business Management from King’s College London.

Prior to joining Summa Equity, I worked as a management consultant in McKinsey & Company – focusing on strategy and corporate finance related topics. I graduated with a MSc in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics.

I joined Summa because I wanted to help solve the most important challenges of our time. I am convinced about the business case for social good and wanted to join a purpose-driven team convinced about the same. Before joining Summa, I spent most of my career in the nexus between private equity, sustainability, and social responsibility. I’ve worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, a corporate lawyer at BAHR and DNB – and have also been selected as a World Economic Forum Global Shaper. I hold a Master of Business Administration from the University of Oxford and a Master of Laws from the University of Oslo.

I joined Summa because I wanted to work in a purpose-driven environment where solving global challenges is on the top of the agenda. Working with companies within the energy sector, I have been exposed to the many challenges society is facing, which has made me increasingly aware of the significant need for rapid change. I am convinced that Summa’s unique investment strategy can generate superior returns in the broader context of people, planet, and profit.

Before joining Summa, I worked as an Investment Banking professional at Morgan Stanley in London, focusing on companies in the energy sector. I hold an MSc in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Prior to joining Summa Equity permanently, I worked in McKinsey & Company focusing on Private Equity, Tech and Sustainability. I hold a MSc in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). I have also had the privilege to work with non-profit groups like UNICEF.

I am thankful for the experience I have gathered from my background as an alpine skiier, my time at Stockholm School of Economics and Goldman Sachs as well as all other people that has been supporting me throughout the last couple of years.

As an Office Manager at the Stockholm office, my focus is to support my colleagues with administrative tasks and make sure everything runs smoothly at the office so my colleagues can consistently deliver their best. I also organize internal and external events.

As Office Manager for our Oslo office, my main tasks are to ensure that my colleagues have a frictionless workday and can work as efficiently as possible.

As Executive Assistant at Summa Equity, I support Gisle Glück Evensen, Jacob Frandsen, Johan P. Holmner and Anna Ryrberg.

My decision to join the Summa team was based on my belief in the ability to create value through a sustainable and purpose-driven approach to investing in companies solving global challenges.

Prior to joining Summa, I worked as a compliance officer at ABG Sundal Collier, and as a lawyer in the Funds and Investment team and Financial Regulatory team at different law firms focusing on funds and financial regulatory matters. I have a Master of Law from Uppsala University.

Summa’s ability to create value through impact-driven investments was the main driver behind my decision to join Summa. Before joining, I had the opportunity to work with Summa in relation to structuring the funds and various investments, where the competent Summa team truly inspired me.

Before joining Summa, I worked as a tax lawyer at PwC, focusing on fund structuring and M&A. I have a Master of Law from Lund University.

I joined Summa because I strongly believe in Summa’s vision, investment strategy and team. The development of companies that help solve some of the world’s most pressing challenges motivates me deeply as it helps show that positive impact and success can go hand in hand, leading us to rethink the way how we allocate capital as a society.

Before joining Summa, I worked as a Consultant at BCG Germany focusing on growth and sustainability strategies, due diligences, and large-scale transformations in various sectors. I hold a BA in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen and MA in Organizational Psychology from London School of Economics and have studied abroad at Harvard University.

After almost three decades in large-scale IT and working on some of the largest internet services, I contemplated a career shift toward a more direct impact on the environment and society.

That is when Summa caught my attention. A PE firm fully committed to the UN’s SDGs and investment strategy and portfolio reflecting those commitments.

As the CTO of Via Summa, my role is to help the portfolio of Summa maximize its potential not just financially but also in terms of ESG metrics. Success can only be achieved by excelling in both.

Prior to joining Summa, I worked for several companies in the IT and Internet industry, including Google, Rakuten, and Microsoft, and worked in Norway, Indonesia, the USA, and Japan.

I started my career at McKinsey & Company, where I spent nine years as a consultant, primarily in consumer goods and private equity, and an additional eight years focusing on talent selection, cultivation, evaluation, and development. In 2012, I founded cb Munich, focusing on structured talent selection within various industries. In 2018, I joined Occhio, one of the fastest-growing premium lighting brands in Europe, and in my role as CHRO, I managed all people- and culture-related aspects through growth and internationalization.

As Head of Portfolio and Head of Via Summa I am leading our collaboration with portfolio companies to create maximum impact and success with our investments. Together with my Summa colleagues and experts from different industries and functions we partner up with management from day 1: to define the right strategy, to invest in leadership and team development, to support in executing big projects and to ensure a smooth process in sharing ideas and results during our partnership.

Before I joined Summa in 2023, I was an Executive Board Member at Axel Springer, I was founder and CEO of eCom company mirapodo, I was part of the leadership team at eBay in Germany and I worked for McKinsey & Company.

At Via Summa I will focus on topics related to Finance and Operations within our portfolio. I will strive in cooperation with the management of our portfolio companies for great solutions to financial and operational challenges.

Before joining Summa, I worked for more than 15 years at Axel Springer as CFO/CHRO for its German Media Business.

I work as a Impact Manager at Summa Equity Advisory AS and was drawn to Summa through my conviction that we can make a substantial difference by showing that its possible to do well by doing good.

One of my primary focus areas is to help facilitating a unified approach for reporting on sustainability across our portfolio. In this work, I aim to ensure that we convey clearly and transparently the impact our portfolio companies are having in the areas where they operate.

With a passion and curiosity to solve our global challenges, the Summa family and wider ecosystem brings purpose and excitement to my role as Impact Manager. We work to invest with rigor and intentionality, to not only promote value creation, but also help build a more sustainable world. Our belief is that investing in impactful companies with a thematic focus, will lead to higher returns while creating value for our societies and planet. In my role at Summa I support portfolio companies on their net-zero journey, from monitoring and reporting emissions, to developing decarbonisation roadmaps and managing climate-related risks and opportunities.

Before joining Summa, I worked at Holtara, supporting private equity firms and their portfolio companies on their net zero journey. I hold a BSc in Environmental Sciences from Utrecht University, and a MSc in Global Business & Sustainability from the Rotterdam School of Management.

Recognizing that positive societal impact is Summa’s core business, as Impact Director my role is to ensure that we have the processes in place to deliver such impact. This includes impact assessment, measurement, and reporting, setting relevant targets and KPIs and ensuring that adequate ESG processes are in place.

I am very excited about Summa’s philosophy, especially at this time when the world faces so many interdependent challenges. To work with talented people that want to contribute to a better world and see investment opportunities in the challenges we face is truly inspiring. I am also thrilled by the collaboration with academics and experts and the way we can contribute with concrete examples and case studies.

Before I joined Summa, I was Head of Responsible Investment at Afa Insurance. I started my career in the academic world, doing research on sustainable development and project financing. I also worked in different positions at ISS ESG, an ESG consultancy firm supporting institutional investors.

As an Investor Relations Manager, I am dedicated to fostering transparent communication and cultivating strong relationships with investors.

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Head of Investor Relations at Summa Equity, I am responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of our operational teams. I ensure that our legal, finance, investor relations, communications, and business development teams reach their maximum potential.

My responsibilities include managing our fundraising activities as well as heading up our investor relations. Furthermore, I serve on the boards of Norsk Gjenvinning and Holdbart, both of which are part of our Resource Efficiency investment theme.

I am honored and inspired to be part of Summa Equity’s work to co-create a future-proof investment framework for our investors, our companies, and society. I am passionate about unifying new market shifts and entrepreneurship to significantly impact and build a better world.

Prior to joining Summa Equity, I worked as a Senior Investor Relations Associate at a VC firm in San Francisco, CA (pre-seed to Series C+). I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Corporate Finance from the University of Stockholm.

Prior to joining Summa, I was working at EQT Partners as part of the Client Relations & Capital Raising team and went on to join a Nordic Venture Capital fund, J12 Ventures. I hold a B.A. in Global Business Management and Administration from Regent’s University in London.

As a Business Developer at Summa Equity, my role is to look at new efficient ways of working through different kinds of projects, as well as being a key asset regarding IT-related matters for the company.

As a HR Manager at Summa Equity, I work along side our Head of People to develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives. The People Team at Summa support current and future business needs through the recruitment, development, engagement, and preservation of our human capital.

As a Brand and Communications Manager at Summa Equity, I assist in handling public relations, information output, press releases, and media requests. I work closely with our Investor Relations team to streamline and maintain valuable and transparent communication with our investors.

As a Management Associate in Summa I work closely with the Management Partner and COO on daily operations and strategic direction.

While my role as Managing Partner is varied, I enjoy everything from being part of the deal teams to driving performance and innovation in our portfolio. Additionally, telling the Summa story to our investors and others, about how Summa is creating value through our strategy of investing to solve global challenges.

The world is facing significant challenges and my choice was to be part of the solution. While establishing the Summa Fund together with the Summa Foundation in 2016 is my main commitment to this, I also find inspiration in the projects we have in Africa as well as closer to home, helping to improve the lives of the disadvantaged.

I have worked on issues related to sustainability and finance in many contexts. As responsible for overseeing the Norwegian Government Pension Fund in the Ministry of Finance, I was engaged in developing its guidelines for responsible investing.

I am a board member in a wide range of different companies. As a board member in Storebrand, a large asset manager and pension provider, I participate in discussions on how to implement an ambitious sustainability program. In Norfund, I work on promoting investments that contribute to development in the poorest countries in the world. As Chair of UN PRI (Principles of Responsible Investment), I promote and expand responsible practices globally.

I am excited to use my background and knowledge, addressing these issues in a new context: Building a leading Private Equity business with sustainable development as a core investment framework.

The landscape of global markets is in the process of a profound change in the coming few years, driven by mega-trends linked to ESG and technology. I believe that Summa is uniquely positioned, has a key role, and possesses the expertise in this major transition process. Summa will prove that ESG-considerations and performance are not incompatible – on the contrary – but key drivers in this transition.

I am a lawyer, having more than 25 years of experience in various legal roles in the Swedish financial industry. In addition, I have gained international experience working within the financial industry and its operations in Luxembourg.

I am passionate about active ownership and creating sustainable value for a multitude of stake holders. In my long-standing role as a private equity fund investor it is important to be a constructive partner enabling private equity teams to continue to improve in a highly capital competitive and lower growth environment in Europe.

In particular the value creation part has evolved and to create best in class sustainable returns only works, in my view, if you invest in building better businesses that can drive sustainable growth. Summa does not only try to this but will in addition only invest in areas where there is a clear link to the UN SDG’s which will make it even more future proof.

As a previous investor in Summa, I have come to know and value the team highly and the opportunity to take an even more active role in the team’s journey as part of the advisory board in Summa’s development is extremely exciting.

George Serafeim is the Charles M. Williams Professor of Business Administration and the Chair of the Impact-Weighted Accounts Project at Harvard Business School. He has taught courses in the MBA, executive education, and doctoral programs, and is currently teaching the elective course “Reimagining Capitalism: Business and Big Problems ” in the MBA curriculum, which received the Ideas Worth Teaching Award from the Aspen Institute and the Grand Page Prize.

Serafeim has presented his research in over 60 countries around the world, including to world leaders in government and business at events such as the World Economic Forum at Davos and the Aspen Ideas Festival. He ranks among the top 10 most popular authors out of over 12,000 business authors on the Social Science Research Network.

Before joining Summa, I managed the life science activities for a leading European family office investing with a people-planet-profit bottom-line, including the foundation of the OMX Venture fund franchise. After stints in investment banking and biotech, I complemented my initial studies in Economics with a Bioengineering degree.

In my role as an Industrial expert at Summa Equity, I collaborate closely with the investment team and together we develop investment strategies, identify and assess investment opportunities, and support our portfolio companies in helping them to develop their full potential. My primary focus is on both healthcare and technology, with the crossroads of both arguably being one of the most exciting domains.

I consider working as a Partner for Summa Equity as a unique opportunity to create tangible impact in terms of sustainable economic development, contribute to a long-term defendable and successful investment philosophy, work with the impressive Summa team and leverage my entrepreneurial experience. All of my career has been in technology with initially a strong focus on financial technology, including trading, cash management, and payments. The last 10 years before joining Summa have been in life sciences, more specifically genomics and multi-omics data analytics with BlueBee (acquired by Illumina). I have been the co-founder and CEO for several successful start-ups and alternated between these entrepreneurial initiatives and senior executive rules in global corporations, including Alcatel Lucent, Sungard FIS, SWIFT, and most recently as the VP of Software for Illumina.

As an Industrial expert with Summa Equity, I work closely with the Changing Demographics team. Drawing on decades of executive leadership, commercial, and operational experience, I’m excited to contribute to Summa’s vision and passion for creating value in companies that can improve healthcare and life science research.

I serve as the Chair on G-Con Manufacturing and Axion Biosystems. In addition, I sit on the Sengenics Board and serve as Chair of the Renumeration Committee on Olink Proteomics Board. I’m excited to work with the talented teams at all these portfolio companies, who have great potential to solve critical global challenges within the life science and healthcare industry.

Before joining Summa Equity as a Partner, my career included roles as a senior executive in leading life science tools and diagnostics companies with a strong track record of successfully bringing new technologies to market and creating highly motivated teams poised to win.

Beyond Summa, I Chair the Board of Directors at Liderança Group, Inc, a SaaS company emphasizing tools to monitor a company’s journey through Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. I remain active in the life sciences through engagements as a Board Member at SISCAPA Assay Technologies, Inc. and IROA Technologies, LLC. and the Advisory Board of Mobilion Systems, Inc.

Nicolas H. Roelofs, Ph.D. has more than 30 years of experience in the Life Sciences and Diagnostics industry. He served as an operating manager in roles across R&D, business development, sales, and business management. He has been directly involved in four start-up companies and several multi-national corporations including Baxter Healthcare, Applied Biosystems, Stratagene, Bio-Rad and Agilent Technologies Inc.. At Agilent Nick served as the President of the Life Sciences Group.

In the five years since leaving Agilent, Nick has served as an Industrial Advisor for Nordic Capital, a Swedish Private Equity firm. He has also serves on eight company Boards for a range of venture capital backed start-ups and larger private equity backed multinational companies. Nick also has served as an advisor to a range of governments and public, private equity and venture capital investors.

My personal motto, which I bring to my work, is: Be Fearless, Be Useful, Be Kind. I see parallels between this set of beliefs and Summa’s work. Where others see challenges or problems, Summa sees opportunities to solve era-defining issues – and provide leadership on future-critical topics, such as on food systems and agriculture.

My role as an Industrial expert is primarily to contribute to the assessment of investment targets in industry sectors where I have previous experience after more than 25 years in senior management positions; in particular within the Seafood sector. In addition, I contribute in the Board of Directors of portfolio companies of relevance.

I am convinced that PE companies in general has significant potential in improving the value creation processes within its portfolio companies, and I appreciate and support the active approach taken by Summa Equity in this respect.
